Lexus GX No.1 in J.D. Power Dependability Study

Lexus GX has been rated the Best Mid Size SUV in the 2010 J.D. Power & Associates Vehicle Dependability Study. The study, which measures problems experienced by original owners of three-year-old (2007 model year) vehicles, includes 198 different problem symptoms across all areas of the vehicle. Overall dependability is determined by the level of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality.

The 2010 Lexus GX is powered by an all-new 4.6-liter V8 Engine which produces 301 horsepower and 44.7 KgM of peak torque, and is teamed to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift.

Positioned between the brand's LX570 and RX350 models, the 2010 GX 460 combines "right sized" midsize packaging with family-friendly comfort and premium craftsmanship. The GX 460 has a standard seven-passenger configuration. Built with rugged body-on-frame construction, the 2010 GX 460 is also equipped with full-time four-wheel drive and the advanced Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) to help provide both exceptional on-road ride and handling and true off-road capability.

In addition to KDSS, the 2010 Lexus GX 460 offers optional Crawl Control a new technology that helps make driving off-road easier. The Crawl Control feature automatically modulates the throttle and brake, allowing the driver to concentrate on steering. Crawl Control is also useful for helping to free the vehicle from sand, mud or snow.

Another interesting feature available for the first time in a Lexus is the Multi-terrain Monitor which provides nearly 360 degree view of what is going on around the vehicle. It displays upto six images from the front camera, left and right door mirror cameras and rear camera. Camera selection is operated via a multi-information switch on the steering wheel and is particularly useful for spotting large rocks or ruts next to the vehicle. The GX460 is also fitted with a steering angle display which graphically depicts the angle of the front wheels on the multi-information display in the centre of the meter cluster.
