Lexus LX570: A Luxury 4WD with extreme capabilities.

The LX570 offers the velvety ride of a luxury cruiser, while taking tough challenges in its stride. When it comes to performance, there few other luxury vehicles match its rough terrain capabilities.

Powered by a 5.7 L, V8 engine, the LX comes with a six-speed transmission. The vehicle adds more teeth to its terrain crunching ability with the new Crawl Control technology. In difficult off road situations, this revolutionary new system manages braking and acceleration to minimise wheel spin and wheel lock up. It provides increased throttle control when manoeuvring over rough or difficult surfaces.

In low range, Crawl Control will help maintain appropriate low speeds allowing the driver to concentrate on steering the car on the desired path - without having to operate the accelerator or the brakes. Similar to cruise control in maintaining vehicle speed, Crawl Control also actuates a set of virtual locking differentials to minimize tire slippage and to maximize chassis behavior.

While Crawl Control can be compared in some ways to cruise control, the driver constantly maintains control over the vehicle. Without cancelling the Crawl Control mode, the driver can reduce vehicle speed by braking, or alter the speed higher or lower by adjusting a speed selector switch.

The Lexus LX570 is capable of going almost anywhere linking its full time four wheel drive system to its new four wheel electro-hydraulic suspension system, which includes Active Height Control (AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS).

There are three selectable suspension height settings for LX570. The 'high' setting provides maximum ground clearance for off road adventures; 'normal' is for everyday motoring and 'low' is for high speed driving. An extra high setting is available only when in L4 mode with Crawl Control in operation. Driving stability on road is aided by the automatic lowering of the vehicle when driving at higher speeds. LX570 also features an easy access function to lower the vehicle for easy entry and exit.

The LX 470 exemplifies the Lexus brand’s leadership in advanced safety technology. The standard Lexus Navigation System integrates a rear back-up camera that automatically projects an image of what its lens can detect behind the vehicle onto the navigation screen when the vehicle is in reverse gear. Bluetooth® wireless technology allows the transfer of personal phone books to the navigation system, from which the driver can make hands-free phone calls via its touch-screen control panel. The driver can answer and end calls, as well as adjust call volume, using steering wheel controls.

The interior is awash in the sort of leather and genuine woodl. At the push of a button, the third-row seats silently fold and rise out of the way, affording a cargo area 67 inches deep and 40 inches wide. Enough space for all your out door gear, picnic kit and more.

The standard Mark Levinson® Premium Audio System in the LX 470 is built around a discrete amplifier design with 240-watts continuous average power at .01 percent total harmonic distortion (20-20,000 Hz). The 11-speaker system includes a rear-cargo-area subwoofer and plays both audio CDs and DVDs. The optional Rear Seat Entertainment System plays DVDs over a 6.5-inch wide-format overhead screen that deploys from the headliner ahead of the second seat row. The option includes two sets of wireless headphones and a remote control.

The standard security system incorporates an immobilizer into the key card and uses a free-wheel key cylinder in the doors. This feature protects against someone using the wrong key or trying to break the lock by inserting a screwdriver or other tool into the cylinder by not allowing the door to open.
