At an exclusive function, the 2016 Lexus LX and RX were launched in Oman. The Guests of Honour at the function were the creators of the All New LX and RX – Mr. Sadayoshi Koyari, Chief Engineer LX, Mr. Jun Takahashii, Assistant Chief Engineer RX and Mr. Takayuki Yoshitsugu, Chief Representative, Toyota Motor Corporation, Middle East & North Africa Representative Office. Gracing the occasion were prominent personalities from the public and the private sector. In his keynote address, Mr. Takayuki Yoshitsugu said, “Over the last 27 years, the Lexus brand has made remarkable progress. And I feel lucky to have been part of this amazing transformation. Lexus is truly amazing in motion. And as a brand it drives both our organisation and also the industry as a whole to ever higher levels of accomplishment. In the beginning, when the first Lexus hit the market, we promised you superior quality and service. Today, we promise even more: the boldest design and the most imaginative technology. And beyond that: an experience beyond compare. Lexus is always amazing in motion. It evolves. And it is this that drives our success. Design is a good example of what I am talking about. We believe that truly great design speaks a universal language a language of emotion which all understand. It needs no translation for it appeals directly to the human heart. And it never stands still. Since 2012 we offered more passionate design and more aggressive styling. You can see it plainly in our use of bold character lines and our signature spindle grille. Head turning design, pulse racing driving dynamics, and intelligent technology. It is environment friendly too. Lexus is always stunning. Always innovative. Always exciting.

Sharing how Lexus as a brand is making a huge impact beyond the realms of automobiles he said, “I want to mention our new brand space Intersect by Lexus. Lexus is a transforming experience. It appeals to people who want more in their lives who want only the best. Design, art, fashion, music and technology are all part of this concept. Later in the evening, Mr. Sadayoshi Koyari, shared his thoughts on the all new LX. He said, “The 5.7 litre, V8, 8-speed automatic transmission LX is not just Lexus’ new SUV flagship but a new paradigm of perfection. It represents next generation luxury, technology and elegance, the ultimate premium SUV. In the LX the new 3-Eye LED headlights and sequential LED turn signals look advanced and classy. From the back, the bright L-shaped tail combination lights add width and stability as well as sophistication. The interior is as premium as the exterior. Only authentic materials are used including satin chrome, metal, leather and wood grain finishes in tasteful combination. In addition to the highest levels of comfort and luxury, the LX is functional too, ergonomically designed to allow the driver complete and total control of the vehicle with easily readable meters and a colour head-up display. The large 12.3 inch multimedia display with remote touch offers navigation information along with climate control, audio, phone, and more. Add to this the Lexus Safety System Plus the most advanced active safety package there is, that includes the Lexus Pre-Collision System (PCS), All Speed Adaptive Cruise Control System, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Adaptive Hi-beam System (AHS), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and more.”

Lexus RX enthusiasts too had interesting insights to look forward to in Mr. Jun Takahashii’s presentation. Elaborating on the all new RX he said, “I was deeply involved with this new RX as leader of production development, driving the prototype, testing and retesting and making improvements in every detail, to realise the specifications and our vision. We were fortunate in having Mr. Katsuda, who also created the previous RX, to guide us in creating this new generation RX. Over the years, the RX has won the hearts of its users worldwide. So we had a high standard to meet. The previous RX was a true Lexus – meaning the best in its class. But we always ask how can we make the best better? How can we not only keep up with an evolving market, but exceed its expectations. We had to keep everything good about the previous RX such as size, a quiet and comfortable interior, fuel economy, elegance and sophistication. The RX has won the hearts of its users worldwide. The new RX had to look alive, strong, powerful and agile. It has a greater wheel base. The tyres are bigger. The “character lines” flow aerodynamically. It’s dynamic, a head-turner. The new RX has it all, roominess, comfort, performance, luxury, technology. And a new bold, eye-catching style. We wanted the RX to be better than the best.”

Later in the evening the enthusiasts went around viewing the vehicles on display and getting a first-hand experience on what makes these vehicles so special.
